The TECC Active Bystander Certification Course (Active Bystander) is a premier training program designed to equip civilians with the necessary skills to effectively respond to intentional violence events and life-threatening emergencies.

Upon completion, participants will receive a TECC Active Bystander certificate. Students must be at least 18 years old (16 and 17-year-olds may attend with a guardian).

Advanced TECC Training for Active Bystanders

The Advanced TECC Training for Active Bystanders enhances skills with immersive, real-world scenario practice. Gain practical familiarity with TECC application and equipment, refine skills through scenario-based practice with realistic simulations.

The advanced TECC training includes:

4-Hour course focused on advancing Active Bystander skills

Comprehensive review of Active Bystander TECC principles

Hands-on familiarity with TECC application and equipment

Realistic scenario-based practice sessions

This course meets the educational requirement to renew the TECC Active Bystander certificate.

*Current certification as an Active Bystander in Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) is a prerequisite.

​*Students must be at least 18 years old (16 and 17-year-olds may attend with a guardian) and be able to lift and carry 75lbs. from the ground and walk at least 100 ft. This course utilizes strobe lights and loud noises to induce stress.

TECC Active Bystander Train-the-Trainer

Our intensive 1 ½ day TECC Active Bystander Instructor Course equips current TECC Active Bystanders with the skills to train and certify community members, enhancing victim survivability in active violence situations. Split into two parts, the initial 8-hour session covers essential topics like active violence dynamics, wound patterns, and TECC guidelines, alongside hands-on practice with equipment. Participants learn to teach crucial techniques such as tourniquet applications and wound packing. The second 4-hour session evaluates students' mastery as instructors through demonstrations and a written exam. Successful completion leads to TECC Active Bystander training certification, enabling students to teach future courses
with provided materials.

*Prerequisite: Current certification as an Active Bystander in TECC.

TECC Active Bystander Refresher Training

Renew and reinforce your skills with our TECC Active Bystander Refresher course, tailored for those whose Active Bystander certification is nearing expiration. This concise 2-hour session offers a comprehensive review and practical application of Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) principles. Participants revisit the latest Active Bystander TECC guidelines and engage in hands-on practice with essential equipment. Successful completion of the refresher course fulfills the educational requirement for TECC Active Bystander certificate renewal.
